We also have two people to support in Haiti. John
Favard has just returned from there on a mission to put orphanages together and some of his family were killed. We
hope to put a team together for late spring with him and medical personel and worship groups. The palace that is dedicated
to Bal and other false gods, has now fallen but the terrible fallout has hit all kinds of people including some Christians.
The rain has fallen on the just and the unjust alike. Also, Father Tom Dilorenzo who
we have loved and worked with in Boston for many years, is sending a courier tomorrow with donations that will reach a young
priest who is born again , spirit filled, and on fire for Jesus. I have met him and love his prayer life and devotions to
the Lord. Father Erlich has orphanages, schools and a ministry that goes into many parts of the
island. His survived the quake on the opposit side of the island. He is buying available food whereever it can be found and
cooking around the clock and driving it to the relief workers and the destitue. A courier is the only way to get past corruption
in that government system. If you wish to donate, please send it to Harvest Projects International
Inc. and we will send it there. or write to: 7724 South Evanston Ave Tulsa, OK 74136 or
fax visa/mastercard info to: 918-493-1975 or call 918-493-1004 |
| What
About Haiti? In the 1600's a slave trade developed
from a grisly discovery made by Sir John Hawkins and his nephew Sir Francis Drake. They were fighting the Pope for the Queen
of England and conquered a Portugese ship that had attacked them. In the cargo hold was something they had never seen before,
black men with chains. Immediately they determinded to take them back from wherever they had been captured but upon
finding that location, another shock ensued. The natives who greeted the ship, did not embrace their loved ones as Sir John
Hawkins, who considered himself to be a Christian, had hoped. No gratitude. Instead they shouted angrily and murdered them
in cold blood. Turns out, the Islamic natives had sold the slaves from other tribes to the Portugese. After that, a letter
was taken to the Queen to see what to do with them. Somehow that turned into a blackmail situation and the slave trade was
the result as it was realized that this could raise money for the "Christian" war of Protestant/ vs Catholic. John
was never comfortable with this and made a public repentance, but his nephew Drake turned to the dark side and became
a ruthless pirate in the trade and brought many slaves to the rum islands, one of which is Hati. So why would the slaves wish to follow the "god" of their tormentors as they came
to know him in that scenerio? Sadly, this later evolved into a battle with the French on Hati's island, and a pact
was made with Ba-al and gods of Voodoo, to serve them if the yoke of opression over them should be broken. We are warned to
be mindful of the vows we make and the Bible says that such sins will visit the generations to follow us. Even though many
Christian missionaries of both Protestant and Catholic have worked hard and long on the island , and though many have convereted
and loved the Lord, evidently the time of a great judgement has come. America should take heed and all other nations to awaken
to a great move of repentance and prayer, seeking and emploring God to draw near. For when he lifts his hand, the destroyer
will come. How sad, that the slave traders tangled
a form of "Christian" religion with the evil done to these people, denying the power thereof, which they themselves
didn't know. Jesus warned that it was an evil thing to even offend one of his little ones and that a mill stone could
be hung around that one's neck as punishment. So now at the time of Hati's great need, we who are truly Christian can undo
some of the damage and give them a chance for a new start. We should do all in our power to send aide and spend time in prayer
for their great need. Jesus has always loved them |
